balance to the body in order to negate symptoms. It is best explained in Western medicine
terms as using needles to create small trauma points. These trauma points send signals to the
body to let it know that there is something wrong in that area which in turn, helps the body
heal itself and speed up recovery.

Tai Chi and Qi Gong are exercise routines involving a series of movements based on Traditional Chinese Medicine to help improve or maintain our health. Tai Chi is more sequence based and can be practiced as a martial art whereas medical Qi Gong is simpler, focused more on specific movements associated with the overall health of the person.
For the first 6 weeks, we will be working through the basic eight spiral rotations as well as the 12 Movements and the 8 Brocades, both of which are considered medical Qi Gong. After the first 6 weeks please let us know if you are interested in progressing with the Tai Chi routines as there will be a separate class for interested participants. Drop-ins are welcome, although weekly attendance is recommended as we will be adding several new movements each class.
Classes are open to all, movements are easily adapted for anyone with physical limitations or restrictions. Please let us know beforehand if you need access to a chair!
